Short film of Tanjung Puting National Park

Please take a few minutes to view this short video ‘Fragile Haven‘ about Tanjung Puting National Park by David Willis (it may take a few minutes to load but is worth waiting for).

Tanjung Puting National Park is one of the world’s largest areas of protected tropical peat swamp and heath forest. The Park has more than 4,000 orangutans making it one of the largest remaining populations in Borneo. Greetings,

I am writing to ask for a preview copy of your film about the Orangutans of Tanjung Puting National Park. My name is DaleLynn Gardner, and I work for Gates of the Arctic National Park & Preserve and the Far North Conservation Film Festival.

For the past five years, the National Park Service has been a co-sponsor of the Far North Conservation Film Festival; a nonprofit film festival sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Alaska Public Lands Information Center, Fairbanks Arts Association, Fairbanks North Star Borough Parks and Recreation, University of Alaska Fairbanks Student Activities Office, and the student chapter of The Wildlife Society.

The Far North Conservation Film Festival presents a diverse group of outstanding films sharing a common theme of conservation and sustainability of wildlife, wild places and cultures around the world. The festival is free to the public. We just completed our fifth festival in November and are in the planning phases of the 2009 festival. You can see more about the festival at http://www.farnorthfilms.com

I believe your film might fit nicely in our festival, and the film review committee would like to view your film. If your film is selected we will notify you and finalize any details. Selected films will also participate in the traveling portion of the festival at other locations within Alaska. All locations maintain our goal of providing a film festival that is free to the public.

If you are interested in letting us show your film, please email me, and I will send you a submission form by reply.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,

    DaleLynn Gardner

    Hi DaleLynn,

Thanks for your comment. I have sent it to David Willis, who made the film. Good luck with the festival!

    Thanks, Cathy.
